@greencar08 Your hair is growing but somehow you are losing length for some reason.

The shortest hair cycle is 2 years and th slowest your hair grows is 1/2 inch a month so everyone should reach at least a foot of hair.

It is hard to diagnose others , because you don’t see their routine. Hair growth stuff also does not work

  • drdawn86 says:

@greencar08 Hair growth is like diets too many myths surround the issue.

The back row of my hair ( nape) was only 7 inches while the penultimate row is 9 inches long. 4 months later the back is 9 and penultimate 11 inches

This shows that friction lost me two inches of hair growth. I revised my hair style and now keep my hair off my shoulders. I have also cut three inches off hair in the last two years

  • drdawn86 says:

@greencar08 My hair is past shoulder length and I am two years in August (natural).

I noticed the middle of my hair was longer than the back which seemed to have slowed down. The problem was the ends were rubbing on my shoulders, so the hair higher on my head was not touching my shoulders it kept the length.

@greencar08 Hair growth is also like dieting – it is hard to form anopinion if you don’t know what the other person is truly doing. The only type of hair that is difficult to maintain length is incredibly fine baby type hair- otherwise the shortest hair should be is about 12 inches minimum

@greencar08 well ill keep you in prayer, souds crazy to some but I pray for hair growth and it’s working. Have a blessed day.

  • greencar08 says:

The only time my hair grew long down my back was when I was pregnant…years ago

  • greencar08 says:

@blissfullyme1980 I have been trying to grow my hair for years. I am not hardly impatient. My hair does not grow long. Everything that you mentioned, I have done and it does not work at all. Garlic is simply good for reducing hair shedding. I have soft hair that simply will not grow long down my back. shoulder length is all that I can achieve

  • blissfullyme1980 says:

@greencar08 , how long have you been tyring to grow your hair? I use msm, biotin, garlic, and many other vitamins that have been growing my hair alot. I also get frustrated though because I am impatient but my hair is growing so I just need to work on the impatient part.

  • greencar08 says:

Also why are we as black women so obsessed with our hair length

  • greencar08 says:

I believe genetically, my hair will not grow long. I have seen white women whose hair will not grow past shoulder, not just black women. And shoulder length to me is actually touching the shoulders, not the lower neck region

  • greencar08 says:

lease do not get angry and go off. I have been gone off on by viewers on here, that I disagreed with. I have tried MSM..nothing happened, I am using Vatika now but it makes hair soft only..it doesn’t grow long. Keep in mind that I have curly/kinky hair that is very soft and easy to manage.

  • greencar08 says:

I have done everything you have mentioned in this video. I wear my hair natural, no chemicals what so ever, I use castile soaps and I deep condition. Why is my hair still short. You said you wonder why black wmen hair only make it to shoulder length. Is it possible that genetically most women’s hair does not grow that long

That makes sense…if people have to go out of the community to get a particular item then maybe there is an opportunity for someone one to open up a small business that provides that product. You are right people should try as much as possible to spend money in the community. .seems like you would be great at it spreading the word….we need more leaders such as yourself…

I think some people shop on the other side of town due to the lack of stores that are available within a black community. It’s ok to do so, but it really hurts the community when they purchase items that are within the community. I did it myself due to not wanting to make more than one stop while I’m out because of lack of time. Now, I do what I can to spend money with our people as long as they supply the items that I need.

  • EthnicHairGrowth says:

I agree with supporting the communities .. yes it is true if you spend in your community that brings in more revenue for schools, street repairs and programs. I don’t understand why someone would ride out of their community to buy unless they prices are lower or the quality and selection is better. You bring up a good point. Can you identify a reason why people go outside of your community to spend their dollars instead of in their community..
    Regards

This video is good, you did great research. I wasn’t disagreeing with you. I was happy to see you putting it out there on how not to “CONSUME” so much by making some of your shampoo. You said that we cannot depend on anyone to provide our needs. Where in my statement did you get that? I don’t think supporting your own community is being a dependent, it’s quite the opposite. People invest money on the “other” side of town but then complain that the local streets need to be fixed. I’m confused.

  • EthnicHairGrowth says:

This is a free country and people can do what ever they want inside the laws. We cannot depend on no one to provide our needs. But we have free will to do what we desire to do and no one wants to work hard just work to make someone else dreams come true.

We have to learn how to become dreamers that is where it starts..

  • Yonnea says:

Black people spend too much money on hair products every year, BILLIONS, and I bet not even a million is going back into our communities. What kind of investment is that? One that don’t make a mutha-suckn CENT. How much of that 14billion is being spent in black owned companies? Start educating yourselves and stop being a “Consumer” be an “Investor”. We can make our money work for us and still get what we want. Look at how the other race does it. Do they come into our stores to drop a $. NO!
