The shaved head look seems to be all the rage these days and with hot, humid summer days right around the corner it may be time to reconsider your look as well. Megastars from Michael Jordan to Bruce Willis to Hugh Jackman have sported the bald look, all with stunning results. Here are some tips to make the process simple and the outcome super handsome.
Commit To The Look
Think long and hard before going under the razor, as your hair will take a good long time to grow out if you decide the look just isn’t for you. Further, hesitation as you go may make for a head full of bloody nicks in lieu of a smooth scalp.
Scissors First
If you hair is more than 2 inches in length, get out some sharp scissors first and trim your hair. Pretty is not important at this step, so feel free to hack away until your hair is less than half an inch in length.
Lather Up
The best time to shave your head is right after a shower. Taking a long, hot shower will allow the skin and hair to soften which will lead to a much smoother result.
Slow and Steady
Post-shower you will want to apply a liberal coating of moisturizing shaving cream to your head. Once fully coated, take your razor (which should be fully sharpened or brand new) and start the methodical process of shaving your head. Long, confident and smooth strokes is the way to go. There should be no need to press down on the razor, simply slowly guide it across your head in even strokes.
All Done
Check in the mirror and use your hand to feel around your head to make sure you have reached all follicles. Once you are hair free thoroughly dry your now bald head and apply a thin coating of moisturizer.
