i have a male friend wo had thick hair the last time i saw him 4 weeks ago and now he is bald on the top of his head. is that a normal rate for male pattern baldness or should i be concerned that maybe he is some kind of sick. where is a good website i can find this info?

If your friend has lost substantial hairs within 4 weeks itself then it most probably is not male pattern baldness but rather due to some other medical reason. Accute illness or infections do cause short term hair loss but hairs lost in such conditions usually regrow when the health gets back to normal. Normal hair loss is considered to be below 100 hairs lost per day anything above that is not normal and would eventually lead to baldness in most cases unless treated properly.
